CHALLENGES
The customer was in hunt of someone to go onsite and install OS on servers, as well as AD, DHCP, and a VM. The client was willing to do the internal remediation himself. The major problem faced by the company was that the customer's extant cabling partner, who is in charge of the physical installation on required locations, lacked sufficient expertise. Therefore, the customer required a remote resource to assist with server configuration for this case.
Assessment and solution
The customer came to PM2NET for assistance with its issue. PM2NET delivered a hybrid solution, with one onsite Smarthand resource working on the installation and one of our experienced network engineers working closely on the VEEAM and server setup. Installation and configuration details are given below:
Cisco Server installations
Rack & Stack
Configuration of Veeam VBR Server
Storage Access
Connection of ILO or IPMI for management purposes
Installation of Vcenter appliance
Installation & Configuration of Veeam VB
Enable backups for the VMWare environment
Enable & configure DNS & DHCP entries for the new VMWare environment
Test Backup and restores via Veeam
advantages
Veeam is designed for today's virtualized environment. Legacy backup technologies were designed for the physical world and have now been reactively modified for virtualization, limiting their flexibility. The accomplished setting through PM2Net’s assistance gave the DNS and DHCP a novel VMWare environment interface. Veeam's proprietary breakthrough technology removes the urge to retrieve and copy backups, allowing the user to start the virtual machine from backup instantaneously. If the VM fails for any reason, users can restart it on any host. Full recovery can occur in the background, depending on the approach, with no influence on users or on the designated organization.
